MENOG Peering Forum 2: Panel

Moderator: Osama I. Al-Dosary (MENOG Chair)

Since the last MENOG Peering Forum, we have seen good growth of the Palestine and UAE IXs. Many new initiatives help to connect more regional ISPs to the Internet Exchanges. When there are a reasonable number of root servers online for peering, it becomes attractive for local and global content to peer, as there are also a reasonable number of access users reachable on the IXs. There
has therefore been some good development in the past year, but there are still many issues to be solved. The panel will discuss these achievements and issues that have to be solved in order to build a bigger peering community in the Middle East.

Panellists include:

  • Saleh Mansour (Palestine IX)
  • Haitham El-Nakhal (NTRA and Cairo IX)
  • Christian Kaufmann (Akamai)
  • Marco Brandstaetter (UAE-IX)
  • Steve Wilcox (IX Reach)
