Call for Presentations

The Call for Presentations (CfP) deadline has passed, however lightning talk proposals can still be submitted.

Are you an experienced network operator with ideas or insights that to share with your peers in the Middle East?

MENOG 23 Meeting and Peering Forum takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 11-12 October 2023.

We are now seeking content proposals from the community for the plenary session presentations, panels and lightning talks. We are looking for submissions covering network engineering and operations, especially but not limited to:

  • IPv6 deployment
  • Efforts to establish IXPs in the region
  • Reports from existing IXPs
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Regional success stories

Other topics of interest:

  • Managing IPv4 scarcity in operations
  • Network migrations from IPv4 to IPv6
  • Commercial transactions of IPv4 addresses
  • Data centre technologies
  • Network and DNS operations
  • Network monitoring and measurements
  • Network management and automation
  • Internet governance and regulatory practices
  • Network and routing security
  • Content delivery
  • Internet peering and mobile data exchange

Submissions

Submissions for MENOG 23 should be non-commercial, and product marketing talks are strongly discouraged. Repeated audience feedback shows that the most successful talks focus on operational experience, research results or case studies. For example, presenters wishing to describe a commercial solution should focus on the underlying technology – principles, algorithms, protocols, configuration, etc., rather than performing a full product demonstration.

Your proposals for plenary sessions must be submitted no later than 15 September 2023, using the presentation submission system.

Proposals submitted after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.

Presenters proposing a panel are encouraged to include speakers from several (perhaps even competing) companies and/or a neutral facilitator.
In addition to presentations selected in advance for the plenary, we also offer time slots for “lightning talks”, which are selected immediately before or during the conference.

Presenters proposing a panel are encouraged to include speakers from several (perhaps even competing) companies and/or a neutral facilitator.

In addition to presentations selected in advance for the plenary, we also offer time slots for “lightning talks”, which are selected immediately before or during the conference.

The following general requirements apply:

  • Presenters should indicate how much time they will require. Usually, 30-minute slots are granted for plenary presentations and 60-minute slots for panels.
  • Proposals for talks will only be considered if they contain draft presentation slides (slides may be updated at a later date). For panels, proposals must contain a clear description, as well as the names of invited panelists, presenters and moderators.
  • Due to potential technical issues, it is expected that most, if not all, presenters/panelists will be physically present at the MENOG.

If you have any questions or requests concerning content submissions, please email the MENOG PC.
