Sandra Gijzen is the External Relations Project Coordinator – Dubai Office Manager at the RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC). She is based at the Dubai office.
Sandra provides overall support to RIPE NCC External Relations activities as outlined in the annual RIPE NCC Activity Plan. In particular, she provides support for annual activities in the Middle East region such as the preparation of Middle East Network Operators Group (MENOG)/RIPE NCC Regional Meetings, Arab Internet Governance Forums (IGFs) and Middle East IPv6 Roadshows. She also provides support for Central Asia RIPE NCC Regional Meetings and other RIPE NCC activities in the region.
A long time employee of the RIPE NCC, Sandra has held several different positions in the organisation over the last 17 years, including Training Administrator, Training Coordinator, Conference/Training Coordinator and External Relations Administrator. Sandra was responsible for the organisation and logistics of the RIPE NCC Training Courses, at least one of which is held every week throughout the 78 countries in the RIPE NCC’s service region. She has also organised RIPE Meetings, Roundtable Meetings, Law Enforcement Meetings, IPv6 Roadshows, RIPE NCC Regional Meetings, Arab IGFs and LEA Meetings, and is responsible for the planning of workshops with the OECD and CEO lunches.
Sandra is part of the Middle East Network Operators Group (MENOG) Coordination Team and helped establish the success of MENOG by coordinating the first ever meeting, MENOG 1, held in Bahrain in April 2007.
