Workshops 22-26 April 2012

MENOG 10 offers two Workshops:

Attendance at the five-day workshops costs $200. If you register by 15 April, you can take advantage of an early registration discount and attend the courses for $150. Early registration is strongly encouraged as the workshops are extremely popular and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Each day runs from 09:00-17:30, with lunch served between 12:30-14:00.

On 25 April there will be a Workshop Dinner from 19:30-22:00 in the Dhow Cruise “Rikks Floating Restaurant”.


DNS Operations & DNSSEC Deployment Workshop

Synopsis
This is a technical workshop, made of up lecture and hands-on lab work to teach DNS and DNS Security Extensions targeted at operators who are responsible for the DNS services in their organization.

Target audience
Network/systems administrators and engineers from ISP/REN/Universities or corporations, who are responsible for DNS service, and operating authoritative and/or recursive DNS installations.

Pre-requisites
Medium to good knowledge of the UNIX/Linux command line environment
Basic understanding of DNS (this course is not an introduction)
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking

NB: Participants are required to bring laptops.

IPv6 for ISPs Workshop

Synopsis
This is a technical workshop, made up of lecture and hands-on lab work to teach the OSPF/ISIS and BGP skills required for the configuration and operation of large scale networks that make up the Internet.

Target Audience
Technical staff who are now building or operating a wide area service provider network with international and/or multiprovider connectivity, or considering participation at an Internet Exchange point.

Pre-requisites
It is assumed that the workshop participants know how to use a router command line interface, do basic router configuration and have a working knowledge of an IGP (OSPFv2) and BGP fundamentals for IPv4.  This workshop is not an introduction.  The lab exercises use Cisco IOS configuration syntax.

NB: Participants are required to bring laptops.
